TFWA Asia Pacific plans proceed despite health concerns

2-Apr-2003

Tax Free World Association (TFWA) is keeping a careful eye on the development of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) outbreak in south-east Asia as the TFWA Asia Pacific event draws near

The Association said in a statement that it had no plans to cancel the event, held on the week of May 20, but it would review the situation in the coming weeks.

The organiser of TFWA Asia Pacific said it had been in close contact with Singapore health authorities and the World Health Organization, and that it was encouraged by the large number of patients said to be recovering and being released from hospitals.
