The European Travel Retail Council has approved an application from Dufry to represent Switzerland on its supervisory board

Dufry Group general counsel Pascal Duclos is to represent Dufry and the Swiss travel-retail community on the ETRC supervisory board after the retailer's application was approved earlier this week. Duclos joins thirteen other representatives from European countries on the board including Cyprus Airways Duty Free Shops general manager Costakis Koukkoulis, who was appointed last month.

ETRC president Frank O'Connell said: "The decision of Dufry to represent Switzerland on the Council is very welcome. The council provides a focus for the promotion of the trade to a wider audience, including the opinion-forming media. We will continue to promote the benefits of ETRC membership in countries that are not currently represented and with other trade associations with similar interests to the ETRC."

The Travel Value Association joined the ETRC on the same day.
