The Taiwanese retailer is in pole position to take on the duty-free contract at Beijing Capital International airport after filing the highest financial bid

Taiwanese retailer Sunrise Duty Free is set to win the duty-free tender at Beijing Capital International airport (BCIA). RavenFox.com understands that Sunrise tabled the highest bid for the contract "by far", according to sources, and that an official result will be announced by BCIA in the next few days.

The tender includes the operation and supply of Beijing's duty-free programme and will cover over 2,300sq m (24,750sq ft), leaving the airport authority to operate 700sq m (7,532sq ft).

Sunrise now looks set to beat competition from rivals China Duty Free Group, Shenzen Duty Free and King Power Group (Hong Kong).
