The developer Subang SkyPark is investing Rm35m ($11m) in major renovation works of terminal three

Subang SkyPark has announced it has allocated Rm35m ($11m) for major refurbishment works at Subang Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah airport terminal three, Malaysian newspaper New Strait Times has reported. The renovation will cover about 157,000sq ft (14,585sq m) of T3, which will house the operations of low-cost carriers Firefly and Berjaya Air.

The decision follows a study commissioned by the company which revealed travellers and tenants want the terminal to be improved, mentioning the inclusion of duty-free stores as a needed development.

Subang SkyPark was awarded a 59-year lease through Malaysia Airports Holding Berhad (MAHB) to develop T3 into a modern aviation hub in December 2007. MAHB will continue to manage operations at the terminal. The entire project—worth Rm300m ($95.3m)—will be privately funded.
