Strong revenues growth for AdP in the first nine months of 2007

The opening of the new S3 terminal at Paris Charles de Gaulle lifts commercial revenues
Aéroports de Paris (AdP) has announced a 10.6% rise in revenues in the first nine months of 2007 to 1.69bn ($2.46bn) compared with the same period last year. The growth was more than double that of passenger traffic, which increased by 5.2%. According to AdP, the opening of the new S3 satellite terminal at Paris Charles de Gaulle airportwith nearly 3,200sq m (34,444sq ft) of shops and 1,400sq m (15,069sq ft) of bars and restaurantssignificantly boosted commercial revenues, which registered an increase of 9.3% to 169.1m ($246.8m). In a statement the company said: Shops in restricted areas continued to report buoyant business, up 9.1%, thanks to strong passenger traffic growth and the start up of new retail areas, notably in la Galerie Parisienne [S3 terminal].
AdPs statement also cited strong revenue growth in other activities, particularly its Société de Distribuition Aéroportuaire (SDA) joint venture with retail operator Aelia. SDA operates shops specialising in liquor, tobacco, fragrances and cosmetics in all AdP-operated terminals and its revenues were up by 63.4% to 117.4m ($171.3m) [AdPs share] buoyed by the combined impact of organic growth and the expansion of its scope of business on January 1 2007 to T3 of Paris Charles de Gaulle and the two terminals at Paris-Orly.
