The company will now operate the duty-free stores at Tampa International airport until September 2015

US retailer Stellar Partners has won a contract to continue operating the duty-free stores at Tampa International airport until September 30 2015, the Tampa Bay Business Journal reported. The five-year extension was approved by the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority and will apply as soon as the current contract expires in 2010.

The airport authority had approved a five-year extension to HMSHost International’s concession agreement to operate retail and food and beverage outlets at Tampa in December 2007. The contracts with both retailers are now due to terminate in 2015, when the airport’s north terminal is scheduled to open.

Stellar Partners also runs the duty-free shops at St Petersburg-Clearwater International airport and operates 19 other speciality concepts at US airports.
