London Stansted airport is continuing its drive towards a more branded retail offer with the introduction of a Ted Baker designer fashion store this month. The brand already has a strong presence at BAA's London airports, with stores at Heathrow T4 and Gatwick South. The 706sq ft (66sq m) store in departures will include items from Ted Baker's mainline men and women's collection, as well as travel related products and accessories.
A Ted Baker spokesperson said: "The move to open at Stansted builds on our travel-retail commitment. The distinct passenger profile at Stansted made the location an obvious choice and an extension of our core market."
UK Airports retail director Colin Hargrave said: "The company joins at an exciting time as we continue to bring new stores to the airport. Since its expansion last summer to incorporate an additional 30,000 sq ft (2,788sq m), Stansted airport has led the way both in terms of design and innovation and the choice of retail and catering outlets on offer."
The store joins other designer and fashion brands at Stansted including Quiksilver, French Connection, Hackett and Austin Reed. Other recent new store openings including a Glenfiddich stand and Swatch island store.
These follow the doubling of space at World Duty Free plus expansions at Hamleys and Books Etc.
