Split airport is to add extra space at its main duty-free store to address the high volume of weekend shoppers
Split airport plans to expand its 240sq m (2,582sq ft) main duty-free store by between 30sq m (322sq ft) and 40sq m (430sq ft) by the end of the year to make extra point of sale provisions. The shop has three point of sale units at present but the new space will allow it to install an additional sales point.
Commercial and trading director Ante Teklic told RavenFox.com: About 75% of sales are made at the weekend and its when we welcome the majority of flights. We will not be enlarging the product assortment but will be looking to reduce the queues of passengers entering the store, who can sometimes wait for up to half an hour. An extra cashier point will also be added to the 120sq m (1,291sq ft) fragrance store.
