Cross-Channel catamaran operator SpeedFerries has opened its first port shop

SpeedFerries opened a new port shop in Boulogne on September 5. The warehouse-style outlet offers mainly liquor and wines, and is ideal for passengers who want to buy in bulk. The assortment in the port store is different from that available in the ferry line's onboard shop, which mainly sells cosmetics, fragrances, jewellery, wines and spirits.

Communications manager Marianne Illum told RavenFox.com that the port store is designed to appeal to passengers travelling to stock up on liquor. "Passengers who want to buy cases of wine or crates of beer, for example, are encouraged to visit our port shop, where they can drive up to the door and load their vehicles. Passengers who want to buy only a few bottles of wine or spirits or cosmetics and fragrances as a treat or a gift can buy those in our onboard shop. It is making the whole travel-retail shopping concept easier for passengers."
