The Phoenix airport looks for tenants in a bid to double its store portfolio

Arizona's Phoenix Sky Harbor International airport is looking for retail operators for the second stage of its terminal four development.  The airport says there are openings for bookstores, sports outlets, sunglasses retailers, electronics and beauty and healthcare operators. Native American arts have also been listed as an opportunity.

The City of Phoenix Aviation Department is inviting retailers to a pre-proposal meeting on October 21 and has asked interested parties to contact the airport before the meeting to obtain information and business proposal documents.

The deadline to complete forms is December 8 and the contracts will be awarded in May.
The airport says that when the terminal is finished in 2007 there will be about 40 shops, more than double the current portfolio.

The first stage of the retail area will be opened in spring 2005, with retailers including The Paradies Shops, which will operate 16 shops including Brighton Collectibles leather goods, In Celebration of Golf and Desert Breeze, which sells the Tommy Bahama brand of clothing.
