Tallink Silja Line Duty Free Sales purchasing director Magnus Skjörshammer replaces House of Prince international sales director Tage Juul-Christensen on the association’s board

Tallink Silja Line Duty Free Sales purchasing director Magnus Skjörshammer has joined the Nordic Travel Retail Group as a member of the board, replacing House of Prince international sales director Tage Juul-Christensen, who stepped down from his role on the board at the group’s annual general meeting earlier this month.

NTRG chairman and Maxxium Global Travel Retail regional director Europe North Erik Thomsen said: “We are very pleased to welcome Magnus to the board. He represents the ferry business which is by far the biggest operator on the Nordic travel-retail market. We also see it as an advantage that Magnus is from Estonia. We have been working on getting new members in the association form the Baltic area, and to fulfill that goal we need a truly Nordic and Baltic board. Tage Juul-Christensen has been a very dedicated member of the board and I would like to thank him for his great work and commitment over the past years.”

The full NTRG board comprises Thomsen, Skjörshammer, Thomas Cook Airways Scandinavia purchasing manager Lars Hjartbo, Hans Just Nordic duty-free and travel-retail manager Jan Hesdorf, Travel Retail Norway managing director Morten Ejven, Sundsservice managing director Lennart Anselmsson, Inflight Service director of purchasing and logistics John Baumgartner and Interbrands sales manager Lars Münter.

The group also revealed that it gained three new members in 2007, and now includes 49 member companies from Denmark, Iceland, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Estonia.
