Singapore Changi T3 shines in nominations for DFNI Asia Awards

Singapore Changi airport’s new terminal three has received widespread praise from the regional travel-retail industry in the nominations for this year’s DFNI (formerly Raven Fox) Awards for Travel-Retail Excellence in Asia/Pacific.

 

The terminal’s two core duty-free tenants, Nuance-Watson (Singapore) and DFS Group, have both been shortlisted for the Asia/Pacific Travel Retailer of the Year award, alongside King Power International Group Thailand. Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore’s efforts in planning the new terminal have been rewarded with a shortlist place for the Airport Authority with the Most Supportive Approach to Travel-Retail, and two of the terminal’s retail outlets have achieved recognition in the Best New Shop Opening shortlist, Nuance-Watson (Singapore)’ s main beauty outlet and King Power Group (Hong Kong)’s confectionery store.

 

This year’s nominations, decided by a vote open to all retailers, suppliers, agents and distributors operating in the Asian travel-retail market, also features strong representation from the South Korean market. Incheon International Airport Co joins CAAS and Airport Authority Hong Kong in the line-up for the Airport Authority with the Most Supportive Approach to Travel-Retail award, Lotte Duty Free is competing for two awards—Best Retailer Operating in a Single Country and Best Fragrances and Cosmetics Retailer—while Korea Tourism Organization Duty Free is competing against Nuance-Watson (HK) and King Power International Group Thailand for the award for Best Gifts Retailer.

 

The complete shortlists of the awards are revealed below. The winners will be revealed and presented with their awards at a ceremony during the TFWA Asia Pacific exhibition next month. The ceremony will be held on May 13 at 6pm in Singapore Suntec Centre Theatre. All delegates to the exhibition and the preceding Gate One2One conference are invited to attend the free event.
