Shop, play and win promotion launches at Changi airport
Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) is organising a five-month promotion at Changi airport to help airlines and retailers affected by the falling passenger volumes. Called "Shop Play Win", the promotion was launched by Yeo Cheow Tong, the Singapore minister for communications and information technology, today.
The "Shop Play Win" promotion, which runs from 15 October 2001 to 15 March 2002, comprises three main activities: an airport game show called "What's Your Range?", a shopping promotion, and an online membership programme called the "Friends of Changi".
"What's Your Range?", hailed as the first and only game show in an airport, will commence on 15 December 2001 and ends on 15 March next year. Passengers at Changi can take part in the game show when they spend any amount in retail outlets or restaurants. As many as 50 passengers per game will pit their general knowledge in a 'live' computerised quiz, with shopping vouchers worth more than S$10,000 ($5,525) for the winners everyday.
Throughout the duration of the 'Shop Play Win' promotion shoppers stand to win other attractive prizes. Every S$50 ($28) spent enters them into a draw to win one of four grand prizes, including an Audi TT Roadster, and three weekly draw prizes, including the new Hewlett-Packard Jornada 560 series Pocket PCs.
E-savvy travellers can also sign up for the "Friends of Changi" programme. This is an on-line programme which offers members regular e-mail updates on the airport's facilities and services, as well as exclusive promotions in Changi airport, in the city and around the region. Passengers who sign up as a friend of Changi from 15 October to 14 December 2001 will get an extra chance of winning the draw prizes.
