Fraport (Frankfurt Airport Services Worldwide) and the Air Transport Authority of the Emirate of Sharjah in UAE cemented 25 years of cooperation with the signing of a follow-up contract last week.

Relations between the two airports initially began when Frankfurt advised Sharjah on the development of Sharjah and Khor Fakkan airports. Later, Frankfurt provided airport management, operational and technical assistance.

Under the new contract both companies plan to offer their expertise and services jointly to other airports in the Middle East and Indian region. Frankfurt is also supporting Sharjah in the development of its cargo logistics centre.
