Scott Beattie outlines new-look Elizabeth Arden structure

Elizabeth Arden Inc (formerly FFI Fragrances) has revealed part of its new international management structure and outlined its business goals, which include an ambition to become the leading prestige beauty company in the world. The announcement was made by chairman, president and chief executive officer Scott Beattie.

The new structure is as follows:
*Arden's corporate headquarters will be in Miami Lakes, Florida and will serve as one of the company's main logistics and fulfilment centres. The facility will also be the primary hub of mass and mid-tier Selling Business Units and the non-Arden brand marketing team.
*Arden's prestige Selling Business Units will be based at the company's Stamford, Connecticut offices.
*Arden's existing New York offices will be relocated to another site in the city in mid-2001 and will become the headquarters for Arden marketing and media activities.
*The headquarters of international operations will continue to be in Geneva, Switzerland. Jacques Steffens has been appointed to head international operations as senior vice-president and general manager international, and is finalising his new management team.
*Paul West has been promoted to executive vice-president and chief operating officer. He will continue to oversee each of the Selling Business Units and will assume responsibility for overseeing all sales and marketing on a global basis. West was previously chief financial officer at Arden between 1989 and 1996.
*Gretchen Goslin has been appointed executive vice-president, business development. She will focus on developing new opportunities in the mid-tier department store market and on supporting the Internet-based needs of retailers.
*Ron Rolleston has been named senior vice-president, global marketing.

Other promotions are:
*Mark Faltzhik, who held the post of corporate sales director for Arden, has been appointed senior vice-president of the prestige Selling Business Unit. The unit will include all prestige department store business in the US including the Arden, Elizabeth Taylor and Paul Sebastian brands.
*Jeff Arnold, who was Arden vice-president and general manager Asia/Pacific, European distributors and travel-retail, has been promoted to senior vice-president of the mass Selling Business Unit. He will relocate to the Miami Lakes office.
*Marion Koprowski will continue to handle the mid-tier Selling Business Unit.
*Doug Anderson, who serves as general manager North America Duty Free, has been promoted to vice-president, Americas special markets. He will be responsible for overseeing operations in Puerto Rico, Canada and Mexico, as well as travel-retail business in North and Latin America.
*Joel Ronkin has been promoted to the role of senior vice-president and chief administrative officer.
