Scorpio appoints Alan Edwards as group business development director

The company has appointed Edwards to develop new brands and product categories

Scorpio Distributors has recruited Alan Edwards to the newly-created post of group business development director. Reporting to group managing director Stuart McGuire, Edwards will be responsible for managing the growth and development of new brands and product categories in the Scorpio portfolio. He will also consider new initiatives and ideas to continue to improve and enhance Scorpio’s business and customer service.

Edwards has held key senior purchasing and operation positions with Alpha Asia, Aer Rianta International-Middle East and Virgin Atlantic Airways.

McGuire stated: ‘I am delighted that Alan has joined Scorpio. We have been good friends for many years, and have always had an excellent relationship. His experience with leading operators, suppliers and airlines on both sides of the fence is invaluable to us as we look to grow and develop the business.’

Edwards said: ‘Working for Scorpio with Stuart is a terrific opportunity to work in a company with a tremendous spirit and reputation. I am enjoying it immensely, and we already have some very exciting projects in the pipeline.’
