Scorpio Distributors is to take over worldwide inflight distribution of Police watches and sunglasses

Scorpio Distributors has taken over the licence to distribute Police watches and sunglasses in worldwide inflight markets. The watch range is new to travel-retail and was launched in late 2003, at prices ranging between $99 and $249. The brand has been boosted by the profile of David Beckham who advertises the products.

Scorpio has also purhcased the trademark Time Design and all related intellectual property effective February 19. Scorpio was already the exclusive duty-free distributor of the brand for five years. It now intends to relaunch a full collection of high fashion timepieces in travel-retail and domestic markets.

In other news, Scorpio's new website goes live today (March 1). The site hosts the group's entire product range, and it is also setting up a restricted online sales site so selected customers can buy online as well as monitor the range and stock levels.

Finally, Scorpio has appointed Andrew Groom as commercial director.

Full details on all these stories will appear in DFNI March 15, which appears at the Orlando show.
