Michael Schriver will take over from Mark Daley as president of worldwide store operations and will oversee daily operations at all DFS retail locations
Travel retailer DFS Group has named Michael Schriver as president of worldwide store operations. He will succeed Mark Daley, who is leaving the company after 22 years to join US retailer Dean & DeLuca as reported on DFNIonline.com on February 7. Schriver will also remain president of merchandising until a successor is found, which DFS hopes will happen in the first half of 2008.
Schriver, who will oversee the daily operations of all DFS retail locations, joined the company in 1998 as vice-president, general merchandise manager of the company’s Hawaii division, but moved to San Francisco later that year to become senior vice-president of planning and distribution. In 2001 he became executive vice-president of merchandising and a year later assumed the role of president. He will relocate to Hong Kong later this year.
DFS chairman and CEO Ed Brennan said: “Since joining DFS Michael has played a critical role in the continued growth and success of the company. Under his leadership, the merchandising organisation has become stronger and even more focused on providing outstanding quality and value to our discerning customers.”
He added: “Mark Daley began his career at DFS as an assistant buyer in Alaska and progressed through various positions, becoming president of our Oceania region in 2000, president of DFS Asia in 2002, and president of worldwide store operations and business development in 2006. We appreciate his many contributions over a distinguished career with DFS and wish him well in his new endeavour.”
DFS senior vice-president, business development Christian Strang will report to Brennan.
