Schiphol Group has welcomed an amendment of the Netherlands' Aviation Act that will enable the full privatisation of the Amsterdam Schiphol airport operator

After over ten years of discussions, the Dutch parliament has today approved an amendment of the Netherlands' Aviation Act allowing airport operator Schiphol Group to be fully privatised. The news comes a year after the parliament's Lower House agreed to sell the government's minority share in the group.

In a statement, Schiphol Group expressed its satisfaction that the amendment had finally been ratified. "Clarity from the Dutch parliament has finally been provided for both the company and its employees on the company's future," said the group.

In addition to its flagship airport in Amsterdam, Schiphol Group also runs facilities at the Dutch cities of Rotterdam and Eindhoven, plus a business airport at Lelystad. It also has shares in John F Kennedy terminal four operator JFK IAT and in Brisbane Airport Corp.
