Amsterdam Schiphol airport has announced its first-half traffic figures

Amsterdam Schiphol airport welcomed nearly 21.6m passengers during the first half of 2006, 4.3% more than the same period last year. In June passenger traffic reached 4.2m, 7.2% more than last June.

Earlier this month airport authority Amsterdam Airport Schiphol announced that it will take control of the liquor and tobacco concession, currently run by KLM Tax Free Services, on January 1 2007.
