Schiphol reports record July traffic

3-Sep-2004

Passenger numbers exceeded 4.35m at Amsterdam Schiphol airport, beating the record set in August 2002

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol has reported a record month in July, serving 4.35m passengers, up 6.3% on the same month last year and over 150,000 more passengers than in August 2002, the previous record month.

Schiphol Group said transfer traffic recorded the strongest growth, up by 13.4% over the same month in 2003. Dutch residents taking holiday in July also boosted traffic as many opted to postpone June holidays because of the Euro 2004 football championships. Poor weather at the beginning of the summer also contributed to air travel bookings in July, the group said.
