The joint venture formed in February 2004 will now oversee commercial operations at all Stockholm terminals
Schiphol Group and Stockholm Arlanda airport owner and authority Luftfartsverket have signed an agreement to extend their joint venture to cover all shops, catering and other passenger facilities at Stockholm-Arlanda airport. The new terms will encompass terminals two, three and four as well as terminal five - which was covered in the existing agreement - and the central landside shopping centre SkyCity, which is situated between the terminals.
Arlanda Schiphol Development Co, the joint venture established by the companies in February 2004, previously managed the commercial facilities at terminal five, which has handled the majority of air traffic to international destinations since 2003. In addition to commercial activities, Arlanda Schiphol Development Co will focus on concept development, product and pricing policy as well as marketing and promotions. Luftfartsverket has a 60% share in the joint venture with Schiphol Group holding the remainder.
The initial 15-year partnership agreement, which was signed in November 2003, includes the management of the duty-free concession, currently held by The Nuance Group.
