Schiphol celebrates ticket tax abolition with shopping promotion

The Dutch airport is offering passengers 11.25% off all items in its See Buy Fly duty-free stores on July 1

Amsterdam Schiphol airport is celebrating the abolition of ticket tax on July 1 by offering cake and shopping discounts to all passengers. Discount vouchers will be handed out today only at the passport and ticket control desks offering 11.25% off all products in the See Buy Fly duty-free stores.

The airport is also offering 200m of Dutch cream cake as part of the celebrations, made locally by 18 pastry chefs. Hostesses will hand out cake to passengers, who can be photographed wearing party hats and can download the pictures from the airport’s website free on July 2.
