Airport treats visitors to music workshop in the Capi electronics store and a party to mark reopening of renovated shopping centre

Amsterdam Schiphol airport celebrated the opening of its renovated Schiphol Plaza shopping centre at the weekend with a “TOP weekend” party. Alderman for economic affairs for the municipality of Haarlemmermeer Arthur van Dijk unveiled a plaque to commemorate the opening.

Improvements at the shopping mall include a second branch of the Starbucks coffee chain and a new Planes@Plaza shop selling model aeroplanes, toys, souvenirs and textiles. Visitors were treated to music, dancing, product demonstrations and workshops.

Van Dijk said: “Haarlemmermeer is regarded as a top location both nationally and internationally, but to stay at the top, sustainable innovation is crucial. The new Schiphol Plaza is a good example of this.”
