The country's General Authority of Civil Aviation allows companies until June 7 to pre-qualify for the tender to run duty-free at three Saudi airports

Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has extended the date for responses to its request for pre-qualification to establish duty-free shops at the country's three main international airports by two weeks due to the level of interest expressed.

The new cut-off date for all responses to be submitted to GACA is 1700hrs (Jeddah time) on Wednesday June 7.

The winning bidder for the 10-year contract will finance and build two duty-free stores at Jeddah airport, two at Riyadh airport and one at Dammam
airport.

GACA is being advised on the tender process and appointment of a retailer by consultant Concessions Planning International.
