SCG London have been selected as the design consultant on behalf of World Duty Free Europe for their new store within the London Gatwick North terminal extension. The concept design (pictured) will include all aspects of the retail interior design for the 650sq m (6,994sq ft) store, the largest in the new retail mall.

SCG London director James Davies said: "This unique store location provides extremely exciting design opportunities due to the double volume open plan configuration. It is not a traditional space as it has no ceiling and we are planning some interesting treatments of the columns and lighting."

Gatwick airport's North terminal is undergoing a major extension creating a new retail hall with restaurants on a mezzanine level above and additional departure gates due to open by the end of 2001. The existing World Duty Free store in Gatwick North will continue in operation.
