Runway Beauty reaps rewards at Domodedovo

Aer Rianta International's Runway Beauty store has been awarded the airport's Best Duty-Free Store award for the second quarter of 2005

Runway Beauty was opened in December and Runway Duty Free general manager John Moriarty revealed that extensive passenger research and development of the outlet's product offer had helped the store win favour among the airport authority's quality control department, which elects the award winner. The award is given to the store with the best layout, product assortment and customer service, and gives the store operator a 10% discount on rental fees for the following quarter.

Moriarty said: "I am extremely happy with this award as it is a confirmation of our work to-date on this store. It has proven to be a major success with passengers and we are very happy with the results to-date. The award is also a testament to our strong relationship with suppliers as well as to the staff, who have worked extremely hard to make the store what it is."

The store now offers a wide range of fragrances based on the consumer research, said Moriarty. Major fragrance brands are given good visibility on the outlet's wide back wall, which can be seen throughout the terminal area, he said. The store is the first ARI operation in Russia to introduce Shiseido and La Prairie to the Russian duty-free market.

Runway Beauty is one of Aer Rianta International's many stores operating under the "Runway" brand at Domodedovo International Airport. Other Runway-branded stores at the airport include Runway Duty Free, Runway Sunglasses, Runway MUSIC, Runway FRESH and Runway VIP. ARI also operates Shannon's Irish Bar and a Swarovski outlet at Domodedovo.

ARI also uses the new Runway brand at New York JFK terminal four, Moscow Vnukovo airport and Montreal Pierre Trudeau airport, where it recently opened the largest single duty-free store in Canada.
