Romania’s ministry of public finance campaigns for rejection of the new duty-free law, according to local reports

Romanian president Vasile Blaga has been requested to reject a new law that bans duty-free on state borders. The draft legislation has already been passed by the senate and chamber of deputies and is awaiting approval by the president.

The ordinance stipulates that duty-free shops on all Romanian borders are to suspend activity within 90 days after the passing of the law. Commercial spaces at international airports are to work only with a five-year authorization from the finance ministry.
