The brand will open its first concept stores at Perth airport’s international terminal in August
Surfwear brand Rip Curl is to open two concept stores at Perth airport’s international terminal. The first of the two outlets is due to open in August and the shops will be the first of their kind in Western Australia.
Rip Curl Australia and New Zealand CEO Steve Kay said: “Rip Curl is excited to add Perth airport to its growing portfolio of airport flagship stores. Our brand was founded on a love of travel, whether to find an empty wave or unridden mountain. Our stores bring these values to life and provide customers with all they need to conduct their search.”
The airport also announced the opening of a Hudsons Coffee outlet in the domestic terminal, adding that attracting recognised brands was “testament to the growth” experienced at Perth.
Perth airport general manager business development Scott Norris said: “We’ve seen a tremendous amount of passenger traffic growth at Perth airport on the back of a strong Western Australian economy and our current retailers have also responded with improvements to their stores. This year has already seen Lagardére [Services Asia Paficic]’s Purely Australian store undergo a transformation, along with Travelex completing a new fit-out and two new food and beverage outlets by Delaware North [Companies]. A new food court operated by Spotless Services will also be opening in the international terminal this October.
“With plans for big redevelopments of the airport announced and improvements already under way, we will be seeking further expressions of interest from retailers for domestic and international terminal retail opportunities,” he concluded.
