BAA Heathrow retail director Mark Riches has been appointed managing director of World Duty Free Europe. He replaces Steve Knott, who left last month. In his new role, Riches reports directly to BAA group retail director Brian Collie.

World Duty Free plc managing director Andrew Jurenko retains responsibility for non-UK business, and assumes the post of co-chairman of BAA MacArthurGlen.

Collie told TRW: "Andrew and Mark will work together to re-integrate elements of the World Duty Free Americas business into WDF here. This includes IT, systems, finance and human resources. Having disposed of the Americas, the team as a whole can now commit to driving the core business here in the UK."
