The new left-wing government is to launch a probe into duty-free contracxts awarded to the Dubai-based firm, claims The Indian Express

India's tourism minister has been asked to examine the award of several duty-free contracts to Flemingo International under the previous government. The Indian Express reported that five left-wing members of parliament alleged that the company had won the tenders despite failing to meet any of the requirements set by the Airports Authority of India

The authority's conditions stipulate that the winning company should have at least five years' experience of operating duty-free stores, a minimum annual turnover of over Rs700m ($15.28m) and no unresolved disputes or back dues with the authority.
