Refurbished Amman duty-free opens

The $3m duty-free shop refurbishment carried out by Aldeasa at Amman Queen Alia airport in Jordan opened this week. Aldeasa was awarded the international bid for the acquisition of Jordan Airports Duty Free Shops in July 2000 and is the exclusive duty-free operator at the country's three airports: Amman, Aqaba and Marka.

A 2,000 sq m (21,520sq ft) retail space in the departures terminal has been completely renovated. Aldeasa's short-term plan features an addtional $1m investment in the Jordan operations. Two more shops at Amman are to be refurbished, in the north and south arrivals terminals, a gold and diamond store will also open in Amman and another new store will be opened at Marka airport.
