A new airport is born in the Thai capital, with an official opening scheduled for next year

Bangkok's new Suvarnabhumi airport was unveiled to the world today as the first flight landed at the Thai capital's ambitious new facility. RavenFox.com was there as a guest of the airport's duty-free operator and master concessionaire King Power International Group (Thailand).

The Thai prime minister flew in on the first flight before a special ceremony took place in front of local and international dignitaries and a packed gathering of local and overseas media.

King Power is in the retail design phase of its planning for the new airport, which is scheduled to open next summer, although no exact date has yet been finalised.

*DFNI will publish a special report on King Power's business, including its plans for the new airport, along with its Cannes issue.
