Record holiday sales for Nuance's debut catering concept

Sales at Changi airport's Brek Ristorante, operated by Nuance-Watson (Singapore), grew by more than 30% in December and early January

Nuance-Watson (Singapore) has reported record sales at it Brek Ristorante at Singapore Changi airport during the holiday season of December 2005 and early January. Sales at the Italian restaurant, Nuance's first foray into airport catering, grew by more than 30% compared to the previous corresponding period.
 
The company said that a strong promotional programme and the outlet's kitchen theatre attracted 20,000 customers to the restaurant in December, purchasing 39,000 items. The concept offers over 100 items on its menu, one of the largest catering offers at the airport, with frequently changing speciality dishes.
 
Nuance-Watson (Singapore) executive general manager Ken Tse said: "We are particularly pleased that we were able to deliver strong results in today's competitive retail environment. Brek's authentic Italian concept has a wide appeal and is popular with travellers from diverse nationalities and cultures".
 
Passenger traffic at Changi grew by 5% in December, and total retail sales at the airport were close to S$1bn ($613m) in 2005.
