2-Jun-2006

James Featherstone has been named as replacement for John Rimmer, who is to leave the company in July

Publisher Raven Fox has named the new editor of Duty-Free News International magazine, the travel-retail industry's leading title. James Featherstone is to join the company at the end of June, replacing John Rimmer. Rimmer will leave the company at the end of July after a month-long handover period.

Featherstone has 12 years' experience of financial journalism. He started his career at Global Investor magazine and was until recently editor of Investment International, an offshore finance magazine owned by Charterhouse Communications.

He has also worked for Emerging Markets Investor, a RiskWaters publication, and FTExpat at Financial Times Business. He has written on a freelance basis for a wide range of titles, from industry magazines to UK national broadsheets. Born and brought up in Leeds, he was educated at University College London and the University of Sussex.

Raven Fox managing director Paul Kelly said: "We're delighted to announce James' arrival at DFNI. He has a very strong background in financial and trade journalism and has some excellent ideas on how to strengthen the magazine. News is and will remain the cornerstone of DFNI and James will enhance our coverage of the travel-retail industry with that in mind.

"I'm also delighted that John and James will spend some time working together on DFNI so that John can pass on his considerable knowledge of the market. We look forward to introducing James to the travel-retail industry and to its key players."
