Raven Fox Ball takes flight for 2003
The 2003 Raven Fox Ball, one of the highlights of the industry's social calendar, will take place in London's Grosvenor House Hotel on Friday March 7, with all proceeds going to children's charity Dreamflight
Founded in 1986, Dreamflight sends seriously ill children on the holiday of a lifetime to Disneyworld in Florida. The charity aims to give a boost to children whose lives have been made difficult by their illnesses. Once a year, Dreamflight charters a Boeing 747 from British Airways and takes 192 children to Florida. The children are mostly aged between eight and 14, and are cared for by volunteers. Each group includes one leader, one doctor, one qualified sister, one physiotherapist, two nurses and three escorts. Dreamflight estimates the cost of sending one child on such a trip at £1,400 ($2,170).
In previous years, the trade has gathered to support charities such as the Chernobyl Children's Project, the Turkish Earthquake Appeal and, last year, Cosmetic Executive Women France, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars.
