Qatar Duty Free plans to open a border store on Saudi frontier and a new outlet with the US military in Doha, as part of its ambitious plans for expansion

Qatar Duty Free, part of the Qatar Airways group of companies, plans to open a border store on the Saudi frontier and a new outlet with the US military in Doha, as part of its ambitious plans for expansion. In an exclusive interview with DFNI, Qatar Airways ceo Akbar Al Baker said negotiations had begun to open a store for US forces, probably in early 2004. The store on the Saudi border will be about 160sq m (1,720sq ft)  and take advantage of the growing commercial traffic passing between the two countries.
