The company promises heavy investment in stores after retaining the exclusive rights to travel-retail at the Spanish port

Spanish duty-free retailer and ship supplier Provimar has won the tender to operate travel-retail outlets at Barcelona port on an exclusive basis for 10 years. The contract extends the company's long-standing presence at Barcelona port until 2015.

Provimar joint managing director Juan Sunet told RavenFox.com: "After winning this concession we will be making an important investment in all the outlets we are operating. This should mean a significant improvement in the retail offer to cruise passengers visiting Barcelona."

The company now operates 10 outlets at the growing port complex: three on the pier adjacent to the World Trade Centre; one each on the San Beltran pier and in terminals A and D; and two each in terminals B and C.
