Programme outlined for Dubai Duty Free Golf World Cup
Dubai Duty Free (DDF) has released details of the golf tournament, prize giving and social programme that will take place from December 14 - 15
This year DDF will celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Dubai Duty Free Golf World Cup, which takes place at the new Montgomerie Dubai course and the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club.
Commenting on the forthcoming tournament, DDF managing director Colm McLoughlin said: "The tenth running of this tournament represents a milestone for Dubai Duty Free and we are looking forward to welcoming over 100 players this year. The players enjoy the atmosphere of friendly competition and the social interaction makes it a good meeting place for those involved in the duty-free industry."
The players who will participate include duty-free industry executives from the UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Holland, India, Singapore and Egypt as well as the regional duty-free operations in Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Sharjah.
After the first golf day on December 14, guests are invited to enjoy Dubai Duty Free's customary hospitality at the legendary Irish Village. The highlight of the evening will be a performance by traditional Irish musician Finbar Furey, who is also known as a member of the all-brother band The Fureys. The second day of golf will take place at the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club (pictured), the venue for the 1999 and 2000 PGA European Tour Dubai Desert Classic. The prize presentation and dinner will follow that same evening at the poolside of Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club.
The Dubai Duty Free Golf World Cup is part of Dubai Duty Free's golfing calendar, which also includes the Dubai Duty Free UAE Nationals Cup, Dubai Duty Free Golf Cup and Dubai Duty Free UGA Seniors Cup. In addition, Dubai Duty Free is a Corporate Patron of the UGA's Junior Development Programme and a supporter of the PGA European Tour Dubai Desert Classic.
