Privatisation looms for Ljubljana airport and duty-free

2-Nov-2002

As part of the country's transition toward EU accession, privatisation of state-controlled companies in Slovenia is being accelerated

The operating company of Ljubljana International airport - Aerodrom Ljubljana (also a duty-free operator) - has been included on the list of companies for which international tenders will be launched.

According to the published programme, the launch of the Aerodrom Ljubljana privatisation is dependent on the settlement of lease contracts on state-owned airport land. No timetable was announced. Last year Aerodrom Ljubljana had sales of $4.6m from the duty-free shops which it operates.
