Britannia Airways? pre-order service is going "from strength to strength" according to retail manager retail sales Natasha Rindel. The service, available on Britannia?s Spanish services and operated in conjunction with Spanish duty-free operator Aldeasa, allows passengers to order goods on their outbound flight. They can then be collected before boarding the return flight. The service is subject to a minimum order value of £25 ($41).

Rindel told TRW: "The pre-order service is doing very well. Our new brochure is a lot clearer [than its predecessor], and we have more branded products available."

The airline has also overhauled its inflight retail offering, with a new catalogue launched last month, along with a new handheld electronic point-of-sale system for its inflight staff. The new system gives flight attendants instant access to product and promotional information. Rindel added that the new system will enhance customer service. "It?s amazing what it can do, and it is much quicker than the previous system," she commented.
