The country has lifted its total ban on LAGs in carry-on luggage to come in line with International Civil Aviation Organization security recommendations

International airports in the Philippines will relax restrictions on LAGs in carry-on baggage from August, the Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association has informed members. The country will implment security guidelines recommended by the International Civil Aviation Organization, allowing passengers to take LAGs airside in containers of up to 100ml in a resealable transparent plastic bag of up to one litre in volume.

The Manila International Airport Authority has prepared leaflets to give to passengers departing Manila Ninoy Aquino International airport, as well as erecting signs and announcing details of the new screening procedure every half hour.

The date for implementation of ICAO recommendations was postponed from July 1 to give all international airports in the country time to introduce the new rules.
