Liquor supplier Pernod Ricard World Trade (PRWT) has announced volume growth of 11% in 2003

Liquor supplier Pernod Ricard World Trade (PRWT) has announced volume growth of 11% in 2003. The announcement was made as parent company Pernod Ricard Group revealed a 12.3% increase in net profits to Eu464m ($580m) in fiscal 2003.

Among brand highlights for Pernod's travel-retail business last year were 23% sales growth for Jameson Irish whiskey, growth of 20% for Havana Club rum and a doubling of sales volumes for wine brand Jacob's Creek. Sales of Chivas Regal premium Scotch whisky increased by 3%.

PRWT chairman and ceo Gilles Cambournac said: ?We are delighted with these results. This was a particularly difficult year, and these figures show that we are successful in both keeping our brands fresh in the travellers' minds and encouraging purchase. We now look forward to increased growth in 2004.?
