Following the clearance of the sale of Seagram's wine and spirits business, joint buyer Pernod Ricard has begun the restructuring of its UK- and US-based companies. As exclusively revealed in Duty-Free News International last year, the supplier's duty-free division is to be renamed Pernod Ricard World Trade, based in London and headed by former World Brands Duty Free chairman Gilles Cambournac.

Pernod Ricard's Scotch whisky business, boosted by the acquisition of Chivas Regal, Glen Grant and The Glenlivet, will now be known as Chivas Brothers Ltd. Georges Nectoux becomes ceo of the new company, which will incorporate the Campbell Distillers business.

Meanwhile in the US, Pernod Ricard's subsidiary Austin Nichols & Co, producer of Wild Turkey Bourbon, has been renamed Pernod Ricard USA. The subsidiary, whose workforce will double in size as a result of the re-organisation, will be based in New York and headed by Michel Bord.

  • Full details will appear in the next issue of Duty-Free News International, out on January 15.
