Pernod Ricard announced today it had acquired 80% of the capital of Polmos Poznan (Wyborowa) and secured the distribution of the Zubrowka brand in Europe.

Within the context of the privatisation process in Poland an agreement was signed whereby Santa-Lina, a Pernod Ricard subsidiary, will purchase 80% of the capital of Polmos Poznan for 300m zlotys ($71.7m). The privatisation agreement states that Pernod Ricard will, over the next two years, increase capital of Polmos Poznan by approximately $8m to fund a production investment programme.

Polmos Poznan is well known for producing the vodkas Premium, Lodowa and Wyborowa, which will join Pernod Ricard's portfolio. Additionally, Pernod Ricard has just signed an agreement with Polmos Bialystok covering the distribution of Zubrowka, an established Polish bison grass wodka. This five-year agreement covers distribution in Europe (excluding Russia and Poland).
