As part of a major round of refurbishments and new leasing this spring, BAA at Pittsburgh International has announced that fragrance discounter Perfumania will open an enlarged 700sq ft (65sq m) this summer in the airport's Center Core

Perfumania is the US retail chain of which Duty Free Americas' co-owner, Jerome Falic was ceo until October 2000.

BAA Pittsburgh, the master-developer of more than 100 shops, restaurants and services in the airport's Airmall says several changes are being made as the airport approaches its ten-year anniversary in October. BAA Pittsburgh president Mark Knight commented: "Spring is typically a busy time of year for the Airmall. We are happy to report this season is going like clockwork. This is when much of our leasing activity and renovations swing into gear."

Swarovski will also open its first store in Pittsburgh this month, a 675sq ft (63sq m) outlet in the airside Center Core. News and gift concessionaire WH Smith has also completed renovations to its six shop units. Meanwhile, The Paradies Shops opened three Rivers News & Gifts in the landside terminal and is introducing its convenience Travel Mart concept. Paradies will also roll out its latest concept Paradies CNBC in two locations and another 1,000sq ft (93sq m) landside store, Sue Venir, will open in June offering exclusive souvenirs from Pittsburgh and around the world

US concession group CBR Inc will open a 900sq ft (84sq m) trendy gift store Toto and Radio Road, which offers traveller fashion basics and travel bags. CBR is the creator of other well-known gift concepts in the US such as Creative Kidstuff, Bow Wow Meow and Spirit of the Red Horse.

Another new entrant at Pittsburgh is Polished, with a 675sq ft (63sq m) boutique which brings manicures, massage, pedicures with reflexology, and makeovers by established makeup artists to the airside terminal.
