The Canadian border store operator has announced healthy results from January to June

Canada border shop operator Peach Arch Duty Free has announced healthy sales results for the first half of 2007 driven by strong gains in the fragrances and cosmetics category.

The company also reported a 3% increase in “capture rate” at its shop at Douglas border crossing between British Columbia and Washington. The business is continuing with an aggressive pricing policy to encourage further sales increases.

Company president Peter Raju stated that the store has contributed to the growth of overall duty-free sales in Canada’s Pacific region. The 26,000sq ft (2,416sq m) Peace Arch shop opened in July 2006.
