Highly respected industry veteran decides to call it a day at Brown-Forman

Brown-Forman has announced that its long-serving and widely respected managing director of travel-retail Patrick Moran is to retire from May 1 2008.

He will be replaced by Jim Perry, who joined the Brown-Forman travel-retail team on October 1 this year from his previous position at the US wine and spirits company as chief of staff for regions. Perry will take on Moran’s full responsibilities when he retires next year.

Perry has worked at Brown-Forman since 2000 and unlike Moran, who was based in Paris, will work out of the company’s headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky.

Commenting on Moran’s retirement, Brown-Forman executive vice-president and CEO Jim Bareuther said: “We have been the beneficiary of Patrick’s accumulated wisdom during his time at Brown-Forman. His consistent messaging, ability to build consensus, and his high degree of respect within the travel-retail industry has positioned Brown-Forman for accelerated growth in the travel-retail channel.”
