Aéroports de Paris has completed a comprehensive renovation of the airport, with retail improvements to follow shortly
Aéroports de Paris has completed a 25m ($34.2m) renovation of the international sections of Paris Orly airport. The renovation, which has increased the South terminals capacity by 10%, has resulted in a single centralised security area, a larger airside departures area, a new business lounge and a new baggage reclaim area. The airport authority will now begin to fit out the new airside area with a new commercial offer.
The new retail and duty-free area covers 2,200sq m (23,672sq ft), increased from 800sq m (8,608sq ft). Duty-free at the airport is operated by the Aelia/Aéroports de Paris joint venture Société de Distribution Aéroportuaire. Orly managing director Patrice Hardel said that the new area would be unveiled within a few months and the commercial offer would be completed by May 2008.
Paris Orly is the second biggest airport in France by passenger traffic, behind Paris Charles de Gaulle.
