Airport authority Aéroports de Paris will unveil the new 2,200sq m (23,680sq ft) retail facilities in July

Aéroports de Paris (AdP) is adding nine shops and a new healthy eating catering concept—claimed to be a first for the location—at Paris Orly airport’s south terminal as part of a €25m ($38.9m) terminal upgrade. The 2,200sq m (23,680sq ft) retail area, increased from 800sq m (8,611sq ft), will open in July and more than doubles the existing offer for the 3.3m international passengers using the terminal, mostly tourists to Mediterranean and Caribbean destinations.

AdP marketing, retail and communications director Pascal Bourgue said: “We are offering passengers a more spacious retail area with, for example, a shop of 600sq m (6,456sq ft) dedicated to gastronomy, spirits and tobacco.”

The multi-store unit, operated by AdP’s Société de Distributions Aeroportuaire joint venture with Aelia, is the biggest outlet at Orly and has been open since February. Among its unique features is a 70sq m (753sq ft) cigar cellar offering 30 brands of cigars and more than 200 references.

Other shops at the terminal, which has been under development since 2006, include a 100sq m (1,076sq ft) watch and jewellery store operated by Swatch Group subsidiary Tech Airport, and a 340sq m (3,659sq ft) Printemps boutique offering a selection of about 20 clothing brands, leather goods, sunglasses and jewellery.
